Spreets – pathetic and dodgy behaviour

Just had a standup battle with Spreets before they finally refunded a couple of vouchers. Probably due to their extraordinarily retarded voucher design (Deals.com.au has the best, the Spreets ones appear to have been “designed” by a brain-damaged amoeba) they managed to completely stuff up the “use by” date on a voucher for Mandala Restaurant, making it May 2012 when it was actually meant to be November 2011 (which it had been, or has been changed to, on the initial offer on the website).

The first refund request I put in simply disappeared into the ether (deleted off their “support” forum), the next was ignored for three weeks until I gave it a bump, then I eventually got told it was my fault for not using the voucher before the expiry date.

I then said I was going to go to Consumer Affairs, at which point they “discovered” a voucher for the place, and “realised” the date was indeed wrong on the vouchers, just as I said, and so they agreed to a refund.

Really pathetic and dishonourable behaviour from Spreets.

I’ll keep buying from them if the deals are good (not all that often recently, TBH), but they’re getting a whack just for their sheer stupidity and uncooperativeness.
